The Fire Lane Bar
is a friendly little Northern Wisconsin bar and grill. You may
know the owners, Terri & Jabber, and their daughter Michelle,
from when they owned the Northwoods Bar at Highway A & Benson
Lake Road a few miles north of the Fire Lane.
After 10 or so years
of running the Northwoods Bar, Terri & Jabber retired, or
so they thought. Along came the Fire Lane Bar, and they dove
right back in. Michelle's
husband Snail's parents owned the Fire Lane for 28 years as Jose's,
before selling it to other owners in the late 90s.
The end result is
a friendly little northern Wisconsin inn, where you can get a
beer and a burger at a fair price, and chances are that you will
meet some nice and interesting people there too. |

The Fire Lane has
a variety of things to do beyond the food and drink. They have
a nice pool table, and there is usually someone around that will
shoot a game. Watch out for guys with funny names though..
While you are shooting
a game, the Internet jukebox can play just about any tune that
you can think of. There are also a variety of video games, and
the game and race are always on TV.
Snowmobilers will
like the wood fireplace for defrosting helmets, boots and body
parts, and the whole place is wood boiler heated, so it is always
comfortable. |

The grill is on
at the Fire Lane Bar! There is a nice charbroiler and large deep
fryer behind the bar, so the food is always good. You can watch
your lunch being made, and there is no wait for a drink while
the bartender goes into another room to cook your food. The menu
is a pretty standard short order menu, including yummy snacks
and appetizers.
Wednesdays special
is $1.75 burgers all day. |

The bar itself is
a fun place with interesting people and fair drink prices. Happy
hour is from 2-6 Tuesday-Friday and features pull tabs that offer
varied drink discounts.
Don't be surprised
to see a raffle or two when you go into the Fire Lane Bar. Jabber
has a long history of being very active and supportive of both
the Near North Trail Riders ATV and Snowmobile Club as well as
the local volunteer fire and rescue departments, and other local
clubs and fundraisers. |

The Fire Lane Bar
is located in Northern Wisconsin on the Near North Trail Riders Snowmobile Trails
a few miles southwest of Athelstane and a few miles east of Silver
Cliff and the Iron
Snowshoe Trails. It is a short ride to gas one way, the great
forests another way, and the High Falls and Caldron Falls Flowages
area is a few miles down the trail across the road.
The Near North Trail Riders is a fun club, and they
maintain some of the nicest snowmobile trails in Northern Wisconsin.
